I installed Ubuntu Mate and I’m realy happy with it.
I was much more happy to find a indicator to control the cpu frequency out of the box.
While watching youtube the fan of my notebook is very busy, so I normaly set the cpu to 1.2 GHz and the fan takes a nap.
But my fan don’t find it’s sleep with this distro.
The indicator shows always the highest level of my cpu.
The solution of this problem is quite simple:
There is a damon that seems not working like expected.
I think it comes with mate.
I removed the cpufreqd from /etc/init.d and installed the old indicator-cpufreq from ubuntu repository.
After a restart the indicator-cpufreq works like it should in the panel.
